Teen Steals $399 from Grad Nite Fundraiser
High School student arrested for stealing from a charity event.
A teen was arrested last week for stealing money from a cash register at a charity event at Naugatuck High School, police said.
During a Naugatuck High School Grad Nite committee even last week to raise funds for alcohol-free graduction party where a juvenile student stole $399 from the cash register, according to police. The arrest record shows the student walked into the gymnasium and busted open a cash register to get at the money.
The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at third-degree criminal mischief, attempt to commit a crime and sixth-degree larceny.

He was released to his father and will appear at Waterbury Juvenile Court to face the charges on Aug. 27.
