Campaign Notebook: Murphy Attacks McMahon

Former Pres. Clinton endorses Dan Roberti.

Fifth District

Dan Roberti (D): Roberti has been endorsed by former President Bill Clinton reports WTNH News 8. "He's always working to make a difference for other people, and he's good at it. That's why I know that in Congress he will bring fresh ideas to get our economy moving again, while protecting Social Security and Medicare and supporting women's rights," President Clinton said.

Andrew Roraback (R): Roraback has spent $25,000 of his own money on his campaign, reports The Register Citizen. This may have resulted from the candidate's need to respond to attacks from his Republican opponents as well as a Democratic super PAC.

Senate

Democratic candidate Chris Murphy attacked Republican candidate Linda McMahon on Sunday while defending himself against Democratic rival Susan Bysiewicz, who accused him of accepting more campaign donations from Wall Street than any other Democratic candidate, reports the Norwich Bulletin

Murphy explained that people in different industries in Connecticut have contributed to his campaign. "Not all of us are Linda McMahon. Not all of us can make money off selling violence and making fun of the vulnerable to kids," the candidate said. "Some of us have to raise money from people in lots of industries."

Third District

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro wrote a letter to The New York Times promoting her Healthy Families Act, which would allow workers to have up to seven paid sick days per year.

Wayne Winsley (R): Winsley visited the Ansonia Senior Center on Friday, according to his Facebook page
