"Cheshire Party" Organizer Won't Run for Office

Michael Evans who planned to form the independent "Cheshire Party" and run a slate of seven candidates announced today that he will not seek election in November.

Cheshire voters won't have a third party to choose from in the November municipal election.

After announcing that he would field a slate of seven candidates under the "Cheshire Party" banner, former Democratic Town Committee Treasurer Michael Evans today announced he will not run for election or file a petition to get the party on the ballot.

Evans points to his new business as keeping him too busy to interview and screen candidates. He said on his Facebook page that instead, he'll turn his attentions to the 2012 Presidential election.
