Poems and essays by Cheshire's Dodd Middle School students are included in new book about the genocide in Darfur

A newly released book called "Adu, My Grandfather said, 'Climb a Tree and Look for the Light,'" includes an entire chapter of poems and essays from

The book relates the escape and surivial of Darfur refugee El Fadel Arbab who has visited the school for five years to educate member of the school's "Purple Team" about the genocide in Darfur.

Dodd Middle School Principal Jeff Solan held a ceremony Thursday with Arbab and former students at a memorial tree planted in 2009 in memory of Darfur victims.
