The LWV works to educate its members and citizens of our communities by fostering dialogue on important issues.

Our first meeting of the program year will be centered on Cheshire’s own Commissioner Dan Esty, head of the newly created Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). He was tapped by Governor Dannel Malloy to head DEEP and oversee its creation and organizational structure.

Before accepting this position, Dan has served as a faculty member at Yale in both the Law School and the School of Forestry and Environmental Science. He was an advisor for President Obama’s transition team and the author of too many books to list.

There will be a meet and greet beginning at 6, with Commissioner Esty arriving at about 6:30. The formal part of our program will begin at 7:00. Please join us and bring a friend. Cheshire/Walliingford League of Women Voter meetings are always open to all interested parties.
