Milone Presents Five-Year Capital Budget Plan

Cheshire Town Manager proposes $53.8 million plan for 64 projects.

Seven potential projects could go to a town referendum in November as part of Town Manager Michael Milone's proposed five-year capital budget because they exceed the $350,000 threshold.

In total, Milone is proposing a $53.8 million plan for 64 projects. The highest ticket item in the plan is $1.75 million for road repaving, followed by $1.2 million for a new fire truck with a snorkel aerial apparatus to replace a vehicle that is frequently out of service, according to the New Haven Register.

The council has until Sept. 3 to approve the capital budget if any items are to go to referendum.

Milone told the Register that he doesn't expect all seven projects that would require a referendum vote to get approval by the council.

"You don't want to burden the voters with too many issues," he told the
Register.
