The Town of Cheshire is recognized for its energy efficiency and renewable energy projects at the municipal level and also at the residential level.  Highlighted in the series is energy challenge which provides homeowners with the opportunity to work with experts to find and seal air leaks, leading to lower heating and cooling costs. Cheshire homeowners who want to stop their home from leaking energy can go towww.CTEnergyChallenge.com/HES to sign-up for their Home Energy Solutions visit.

Leading Cheshire’s energy movement is the Cheshire Energy Commission. The commission is an advisory commission to the Town Council on energy-related matters. The television show is an initiative produced in partnership with the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF).  The series shows Connecticut residents how small changes can make a difference when it comes to the environment – and their energy bill.

Hosted and produced by environmental journalist, Christina DeFranco with Channel 8’s Bob Wilson serving as a featured contributor, Empowering Connecticut showcases Connecticut residents, businesses, and communities that are finding creative and comparatively inexpensive ways to conserve energy.
