Bartolomeo to Visit Dodd Middle School Before Making Safety Recommendations

The Cheshire senator was recently appointed to the school safety subcommittee of the legislature's bipartisan Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention and Children's Safety.

State Sen. Dante Bartolomeo (D-12th) will tour Dodd Middle School in Cheshire in order to gain insight and advice from parents, school officials, law enforcement and others in response to the Newtown tragedy.

Bartolomeo, who also represents voters in Cheshire, Middletown and Middlefield, was recently appointed to the school safety subcommittee of the legislature's Bipartisan Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention and Children's Safety.

She plans to visit Farm Hill Elementary School in Middletown on Monday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, Bartolomeo will tour Roger Sherman Elementary School. The visit is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

A week later, on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m., Bartolomeo plans to visit Dodd Middle School in Cheshire.

She will use some of the input she receives from these school tours to make legislative recommendations to the Task Force, according to a press release from her office.
