Cheshire Boys Volleyball Recognized for Undefeated Season

The Cheshire Town Council catches up with the state champs who won the title in June.

Cheshire High School graduate Joe Bahgat may be in college now but he headed back to town to be with Rams boys volleyball team Tuesday night as they were honored by the Town Council for their state championship win in the 2010-11 school year.

This year's captain, Ryan Cuppernull, said Bahgat introduced him to the sport and winning the championship meant winning it for Bahgat.

"To see the seniors and get that at the end of their high school," was memorable, Cuppernull said.

Head coach Sue Bavone told the council that boys volleyball has only been played at CHS for eight years. "It's never been done, to be undefeated," she said.
