Cheshire Public, Private, Schools to Close Monday Due to Hurricane Sandy

The public school district and St. Briget's school will also remain closed on Tuesday, according to school notices.

Several Cheshire schools have already announced that they will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to Hurricane Sandy.

The Cheshire Public School System will remain closed both Monday, Oct. 29, and Tuesday, Oct. 30, as well as St. Bridget’s School, according to notices posted on the schools’ websites.

Cheshire Academy has posted a notice saying it will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29, although the school said it would resume classes with casual dress on Tuesday.

“Additionally, parents of boarding students who live within safe driving distance may pick up their student Sunday evening, if they wish,” Cheshire Academy said. “Please stay tuned to the online portal and website for additional updates as they become available.”

Sandy is expected to make landfall on the East Coast by late tonight, with the full force of the hurricane being felt Monday and Tuesday.
