Cheshire Rotary Club Donates School Supplies to Town Schools

The below posting is a press release from the Cheshire Rotary Club.

In time for the beginning of the school year, the Rotary Club of Cheshire presented school supplies to the Town of Cheshire Human Services Department to support our community's most important assets as they return to school. The effort was led by current club president Ellen McKinley in coordination with fellow club and community members.


The school supplies collected and donated included book bags, notebooks, pencils, pens, and much more. Past President Wendy Farrell commented “This effort made me very proud to be a member of the Cheshire Rotary Club. Ellen really took this effort to the next level.”

Club member and social worker at Town of Cheshire Human Services Department said “Cheshire Human Services relies on donations from the community for programs such as the Back to School program, so this is much appreciated. It is nice for parents to know that we can help provide children with necessary items to start the school year prepared.” The Town of Cheshire Human Services Department offers a variety of social service and assistance programs for our residents or all ages. Rotary is a world wide service organization. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues. Some of the Cheshire Rotary service projects include the local scholarship program, the "William E. Grove II Memorial Firefighter of the Year" award, the Cheshire Public Library Birthday Book program, the Cheshire YMCA Van, as well as contributions  to many agencies including: Cheshire Food Drive, Hospice organizations, Boy Scouts of America, and Cheshire Senior Center.
