Cheshire Rotary Donates Backpacks and School Supplies

With school starting in less than a week, these backpacks filled with supplies will be greatly appreciated!

This is a news release from the Cheshire Rotary Club:

The club presented school supplies to Kristen Schechter of the Town of Cheshire Human Services Department to support our community's most important asset as they return to school.  The school supplies included book bags, notebooks, and pencils primarily geared toward  elementary school students.   The Town of Cheshire Human Services Department offers a variety of social service and assistance programs for our residents or all ages. For more information on available program please call the Human Services Department at 203-271-6690.

Representing the Rotary Club of Cheshire are Club President, Wendy Farrell; Club Secretary Michelle Dziubina; and newest member Ellen McKinley.  Wendy Farrell is an Intercultural Program Manager and a single mother.  She said "so many people say that they don't have time, but the truth is that I am able to accomplish so much in the limited time I have because of my Rotarymembership."   Ellen McKinley recently joined despite her full time job and helping run the family business.  She agrees, saying "I don't know how else I would be able to give back to the community and help others on a local and world-wide basis."
