Cheshire School Enrollment Decreases by Nearly 100 Students

The August enrollment figures for the 2011-12 school year show an overall decrease but some schools have stable numbers.

When Cheshire public schools open on Aug. 29, there will be nearly 100 fewer students in the classrooms district-wide.

A preliminary report posted on a blog written by Board of Education member Tony Perugini shows enrollment is predicted to drop by 95 students for a projected total of 4,703.

The report includes enrollment numbers as of July 28, which Perugini said will be updated in October.
