Cheshire Student Wins Geography Bee

Student eligible to compete in state competition.

What's the name of the mountain range that runs through California and Nevada? If you guessed Sierra Nevada, you could be on par with students who completed in a day-long geography bee today (Tuesday).

Twenty-four Dodd students participated in the finals of the National Geographic Bee as numerous rounds of questions covered many aspects of geography.  Eliminations were made throughout the morning until a group of three finalists were named.

The finalists, Peter Brown, Thomas Holley, and Anthony Simpatico, met in the written championship round. Peter emerged as the winner and then answered a 75 question written test that was sent to the National Geographic Society in Washington, D. C.
