Dodd Student is Cheshire Town Scholar

Eighth grader awarded four-year scholarship to Cheshire Academy.

The for 2012 is Danielle Putnam, an eighth grader at

Putnam is a National Junior Honor Society member, captain of the Dodd soccer team, plays the piano and trumpet and is involved in numerous charities and clubs.

In January, she and her mom traveled to Africa to volunteer at the Kampala Children’s Center where worked at the orphanage in Uganda for two weeks. Putnam is the daughter of Joellen and Martin Putnam.

The Town Scholar program was established in 1937 and awards a full, four-year scholarship to a resident of Cheshire who will be entering high school in the fall, based on scholarship, leadership, personality, and citizenship.
