Nature Program at Kellogg Environmental Center, Derby

The Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will host a program titled Singing Leaves: The Stories and Songs of the Crickets and Katydids by John Himmelman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby.

Author John Himmelman’s 50-minute presentation introduces the audience to the world of night sounds and creators of familiar insect songs heard beginning in April through late summer.  His presentation is illustrated with photos of species from the Northeast and accompanied by his recordings made in the field and studio.
