Group Provides College Help to Area Students

College Goal Sunday wants to provide students and parents information on secondary education.

College Goal Sunday forums for students and parents on planning and financing for college will be held on Jan. 29 at various locations around Connecticut, including in the New Haven and Bridgeport regions.

Financial aid counselors and college staff will be on hand to give one-on-one advice from 1:30-4:30 p.m., so that students and their families can learn about preparing and paying for college in a comfortable setting in a single afternoon. Information will be available at the forum on college entrance requirements, financial aid, the benefits of attending college, student support services and the degree programs that are offered. Spanish interpreters will also be available.

In the New Haven area, the forum will be held at Gateway Community College, Long Wharf, 60 Sargent Drive, New Haven. Forums will also be held at the University of Bridgeport, 126 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, and at Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield, in the Bridgeport area.

Registration is required. Go online to the College Goal Sunday website and select Student Registration under the Students and Parents menu.
