Last Friday in October is First Game on Turf Field

New field at Cheshire High School is expected to be finished within days.

The Cheshire High School football team has had to play all their home games at other fields this season while construction of the new turf field was underway.

By the end of the month though, the first kickoff on the turf field will signal a new era in Rams' footall.

Athletic Director Steve Trifone said he expects the field will basically be finished as early as next week, but rain could delay when teams are allowed on the turf.

Trifone said the field won't be ready in time for the game against Wilbur Cross on Oct. 14. He expects however, that the home game against Foran on Oct. 28 will be the debut of the turf.
