Little Big Wheels

Children clambered into the high seats of a fire engine, a crane and even a military Humvee during the annual Touch-a-Truck event Thursday at Bartlem Park.

Reaching the half-way mark of the April school break was easy for children compared to reaching the high seats of the giant work machines that rolled into Bartlem Park on Thursday.

About 100 children were able to get behind the wheel of fire engines, cranes, plows and even an armored Humvee, during the annual Touch-a-Truck event hosted by the Cheshire Parks and Recreation Department.

A raffle awarded a toy truck and children had a chance to win a goldfish by throwing  a ping pong ball in a jar to support the Cheshire High School chapter of the Best Buddies program.
