Summer Reading List Released for Cheshire High School

Students are required to read three books from a list of suggested authors that ranges from Asimov to Kerouac.

The CHS Rampage posted this summer's reading list for all students in 9-12 grade including those entering high school this fall.

Students are required to read at least three books, keep a log of the books they've read and get the log signed by a parent or guardian to confirm that the books listed on the log have been read.

The list of suggested books covers the genres of fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction, science, fine arts, math, social studies, fantasy/science fiction, mystery, biography, applied technology, business, world language and physical education.

In the fall, officials said students should expect to participate in activities and discussions about the ideas and information they learned from the books.

The Governor's Summer Reading Challenge was launched earlier this month with the goal of getting students to read every day. It suggests families visit the library as often as they go to the grocery store.
