Coach Mark Ecke of the Cheshire High football team resigned on Monday. The coach, who was disciplined by the Board of Education earlier this month, said in an email that it was a "difficult decision," reports the Hartford Courant.
Ecke was after reportedly getting in a argument at his son's lacrosse game. He refused at the time, and a panel was planning to hear his case.
In 2009, Ecke led the team to a state championship. In the following seasons the team finished 5-5.
