Cheshire head coach Dan Warburton said the game was important on two levels for his team.

"It was a real important one for seeding (in the state tournament) for us," Warburton said. "With the win I believe we're going to be the three seed in (Class) L. If we had lost we would have been the five, which is the difference between a potential home game for quarterfinals if we get by the first round. So this was an important game for us.

"We played Glastonbury (a 10-7 loss), Simsbury today. We're a little tired. We're
going to take it easy (Sunday). It's two very good teams to get ready for playoffs with."

Cheshire dropped the non-conference decision to Glastonbury Thursday, a game switched to Glastonbury High, despite hat tricks from Blois and Alyssa Hague.
