West Main Street traffic

West Main Street

Has the town considered speed humps to calm speed and traffic on West Main Street?  Not speed bumps, but speed humps.  Many area towns use them to slow traffic to around 25mph.  Given the pending Linear Trail crossing and the recent accident where a pedetrian was struck, a few speed humps would slow traffic, while also keeping it moving.  One at the crossing, and one at each entrance to the West Main commerical area would make this area much safer for pedestrian traffic.  Maybe even one further up the hill to slow speed as cars and trucks start coming down the hill.  This could also help cars trying to exit local parking lots making left turns, which is diffucult now givent he speed of cars traveling through the area.  A few well placed speed humps would not be expensive to install and could make this a much safer area.
