Thousands Step Out for Cheshire MS Walk

A cold Sunday didn't keep walkers away in Cheshire for the 2012 Walk MS event.

About 2,000 walkers stepped out Sunday morning from Cheshire High School to raise money to support research on multiple sclerosis.

Walkers gathered at Cheshire High School to begin the walk at 9 a.m. The route led volunteers down Cornwall Avenue and on to the Farmington Canal Linear Trail where a rest stop offered water, fruit and and other snacks.

About $1.45 millon is expected to be collected through the statwide fundraising event which was held in 12 locations in Connecicut.
