The building on Main Street was built in 1958 but the history of church goes back to the mid-1800s when a mission was established in Cheshire. The church now has more than 2,500 members and operates St. Bridget School which is next door. The church is involved with the town's food pantry. The St. Bridget cemetery is on Higgins Road.
