The Watch Factory Restaurant was just reviewed in the march issue of Connecticut Magazine by Elise Maclay. http://www.connecticutmag.com/Connecticut-Magazine/March-2011/The-Watch-Factory-Cheshire/
I was amused to learn "chef Markus hails from Brixen im Thale in the Tyrolean Alps and came to the U.S. as chef to famed pianist and comedian Victor Borge" Beyond that bit the glitz, the restaurant is consistently superb. Chef Markus will not compromise his tradition to extraordinary Austrian country cooking. If you want a relaxed reprieve with fine food go there. You will not be disappointed.

Since the mid 1990s, the Watch Factory Restaurant has claimed to be the "antidote to everyday cuisine" and its multitude of glowing newspaper reviews confirms it. Chef Markus Patsch has been providing Cheshire with authentic Austrian fare such as roasted monkfish, duck breast with seasonal fruits and bratwurst with white wine mustard sauce. Pair your dinner with an Austrian wine and it truly will be a memorable feast.

I have been to the Watch Factory Restaurant many times and it's always a special treat. Dining in a relaxed atmosphere makes it feel as if one were eating in Marcus' personal kitchen. Food is top notch and to be expected from a culinary great. From the Schnitzel to the Veal Chops, everything is excellent. If you have room for desert, the strudel, chocolate mousse and cheesecake are a must. Markus makes his own desserts daily. Price range is from $10 - $30 and well worth it. One of the great things about the restaurant is that there's no pressure from the wait staff to turn over tables. You can stay as long as you like and nobody will force you out the door like some other places. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
