As a long-time resident of Cheshire, I think our police department does an excellent job. But of…Read More course these documentarians are only interested in creating controversy.

This police department is a joke. they can't protect the people of this town and they all should be…Read More fired. anyone who thinks otherwise, well, your a moron too. the facts are the facts. you think they did an excellent job? 3 beautiful girls died, thats your idea of an excellent job. what does a bad job take, a mass murder of the entire town. wake up people, it shows reality and it shows the true incompetencies of the jackasses that are in the police department. shame on you for supporting them and shame on them for not being trained to handle such things. you know it's bad when other police officers from other towns say they screwed up. why? BECAUSE THEY DID! those girls would be alive today if we had trained officers instead of ticket writing robots.

This article doesn't make sense. Which is it - gun sale background checks or gun permit background…Read More checks? They are two entirely different things.

Catherine, you're right. I think they are referring to Permit applications. Background checks have…Read More always been done in CT for gun sales through any dealer and they are done at the time of purchase, so there is no way they would be "back logged". Applications for new permits however, they can back up when a law is passed that makes people who may have been putting off getting a permit submit applications.

I also believe the backlog is in new permit applications. The article is intentionally misleading.…Read More The only new background check requirement is on private sales of long guns. That can't be a huge increase since all handgun transfers and all dealer sales were already background checked. The increase in permit applications makes a lie of the claim that the number of gun owners is decreasing.
