Founded in 1794 as the Episcopal Academy of Connecticut, this private college-preparatory school is located in theMore center of Cheshire, where its many historical buildings can be seen dotting the campus. The school became known as Cheshire Academy in 1937. It has nearly 200 high school students who live on campus and a total student population of 363, including international students who represent 15 countries. A day school educates 45 middle school students in grades 6 through 8.

Nearly 90 percent of the studentsMore take the SAT, besting the state and national averages in reading, writing and math. Eighty percent of the graduating students attend college. The school offers 30 athletic programs and has 26 clubs. The Cheshire Music Program has been ranked as one of the top 100 in the United States.
