The Cheshire Community Food Pantry moved to its new, larger location in the fall of 2010. The pantry is supported byMore monetary donations given during the annual food drive where non-perishable items are collected to provide to those in need. School children also hold contests in the fall to collect food, while individuals and religious organizations provide donations throughout the year. Residents are referred to the food pantry through the town's Youth and Social Services Department.

The building on Main Street was built in 1958 but the history of church goes back to the mid-1800s when a mission wasMore established in Cheshire. The church now has more than 2,500 members and operates St. Bridget School which is next door. The church is involved with the town's food pantry. The St. Bridget cemetery is on Higgins Road.
Cheshire Lutheran Church

The dramatic architecture of this church building and the sculptural installation of three large crosses isMore visible from West Main Street. The church was founded nearly 50 years ago.  </p> <p>Sunday school is offered on Sunday at 9:10am for children from K-12, while adult Bible classes are held between services at the same time.</p> <p>Church members support the Cheshire Community Food Pantry and the Christian Fund, and also participate in the Cheshire Interfaith Housing program, which provides affordable housing for eligible applicants.</p> <p>The Little Cherubs Christian Preschool provides day care for children ages 3 and 4 in a dedicated area of the church building.</p>
