The town will recover costs for the cleanup and demolition once the house is sold.

The home of a Cheshire woman, who died when when the the first floor of her house collapsed on her from the weight of debris she had hoarded over the years, is going to be demolished, according to an agreement reached between the town and the property’s heirs.

The New Haven Register reports that according to the agreement, which was reached late Friday, that the town will not seek to recover costs of the demolition of the house and the associated clean up.

But the town will place a lien on the property and collect what it is owed when the land is sold, Luther Turmelle reports
